What is Gift Aid ?
Gift Aid is a UK government scheme that allows charities to claim an extra 25% on every eligible donation — at no cost to the donor. If someone donates £20, the charity can claim an additional £5 from HMRC, turning it into £25.
To qualify, the donor must:
- be a UK taxpayer
- have paid at least as much in Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax as the charity will claim
- give permission on the Girft aid form
